Last March we went to Rajasthan on the Bullet for a four weeks road trip. Together on our Enfield for the last time, at least for now. There was an urge for some relaxation after ten months living and travelling through Nepal and India. We kind of wanted to escape the chaos of these countries before going to back to the Netherlands, and Rajasthan seemed the perfect spot.

It is exactly one year ago that we were about to discover a gem: Turkey. The land is beautiful and draped with good roads. The people are friendly and helpful. Several times we have had tea with police officers and if we should choose one country to get motorbike problems than it is Turkey though. I’m sure we will be helped everywhere.

And don’t forget the food. Throughout Turkey and even budget traveling the food is diverse and tasty. Istanbul and Mediterranean Sea coast are popular destinations but Turkey is much, much more. A delight for the senses and a bikers paradise!

Last Monday it was a rainy day in Nepal. Rain kept pouring from the sky, supported by heavy thunder. A day to stay inside and a perfect reason to dive into the archives of the motor trip we took to Mongolia last year. A trip to Nuwakot from Kathmandu is ideal for a motorbike trip of a few days. The route takes you along fun and beautiful mountain roads and valleys. In Nuwakot you can unwind in The Famous Farm. Nuwakot itself is a sleepy settlement with historic significance and a beautiful Durbar (kings) square. A not yet discovered spot in Nepal.

By Pieter – Every year many westerners flee their homes, wifes or jobs to ride a Royal Enfield Bullet in India, Nepal or Tibet. They are attracted by these mysterious eastern countries and the legendary Royal Enfield motorbike. After their trip they go home and write a blog on how fantastic their adventures on the Royal Enfield has been.

Showing off could also be a good synonym for their stories? Nothing wrong with that of course as everyone may have his own fun, but it made me think.

Is the Royal Enfield Bullet as good as everyone is saying? I experienced a lot of trouble with it lately. On top of that I see a motorbike brand that will be out of existence if it will not change. And no ‘holiday fans’ that can do anything about it.
